What this list of Italian plant nurseries is
It is the list of the plant nurseries in an Italian area (production nurseries, ornamental plant growers, nursery farms and garden centres), with business name, nursery address, phone, website and the emails published on that website. It is not an archive to download: it is extracted when you order it, so the collection date is the delivery date.
Whoever looks for a list of nursery growers in Italy mostly lands on the pages of the trade associations and on sector portals, with the lists of their members. They are useful to understand the trade. Our file is for something else: for whoever sells to nurseries (pots, growing media, irrigation, machinery, transport) and needs the nursery address, phone, website and email, with the source on every row.
The numbers on this page are for Pistoia: the «vivaio piante» search of 4 October 2026 exhausted the map results for the city and returned 207 listings; 29 belonged to other categories and we took them out, because that is exactly what the category column in the file is for. That leaves 178 nurseries and garden supply shops.
The fields you get on every row
These are the columns of the CSV or XLSX. Email and email type are read on each business’s own website, so they are filled only for the businesses with a reachable website.

The sector from the listing, not from the ATECO code
A company picks its ATECO activity code when it registers and often never updates it when the business changes. We take the category the business shows today on its public listing, on Google Maps and on the Italian national directories.
The operating address, not only the registered office
The address is where the business works and answers the phone, not the registered office in the company register, which is sometimes only an administrative address.

Compliance: what is in the file and what is up to you
The list contains business contacts only: business name, operating address, published number, website and the emails the nursery publishes on its own website. No consumer data or garden centre customers, no private contacts, no personal profiles bought from third parties.
For business-to-business contact the legal basis is legitimate interest, which the GDPR names explicitly for direct marketing in recital 47. Many nurseries are sole-owner farms or carry the owner’s name: for them the contact detail counts as personal data and the processing has to be assessed case by case.
Email, SMS and automated messages need consent in Italy. Sending commercial communications through automated systems requires the recipient's prior consent, even when the recipient is a company or a professional (art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code): the email column is for whoever already has that consent, or for the cases where the law does not require it, such as existing customers for similar products. Calls with a live operator are allowed only to numbers not listed in the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni, Italy's do-not-call register.

What is the difference between a nursery and a garden centre in the file?
The category column shows the one declared on the listing. «Plant nursery» usually means a grower, sometimes selling only to other nurseries or to landscapers; «Garden supply store» is the garden centre that sells to the public. In Pistoia we counted both in the 178, but in the file you can keep them apart and order only one group.
How many Italian nurseries in the list have an email?
The emails do not come from an archive: we read them on the nursery’s website, so coverage depends on how many have a website. In the Pistoia sample, 120 nurseries out of 178 (67%) had a website to visit; for the others you get phone and address. In the free sample you see the real percentage for your area before you pay.
Is it legal to contact these nurseries?
They are business contacts published by the nurseries themselves. For B2B the GDPR allows legitimate interest under recital 47. Whoever receives the file becomes an independent controller. Commercial emails and SMS sent with automated systems need the recipient’s prior consent (art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code), except for existing customers offered similar products. How up to date is the data?
It is current to the day of extraction, because the list is generated when you order it instead of being pulled from an archive. In the nursery trade businesses change name or pass to the next generation. The status on the map (hours shown, temporarily or permanently closed) tells you, row by row, who is still operating. On request we rebuild the file every month and deliver only the changes.
Can I download the list as CSV or Excel, and how fast?
CSV and XLSX, with the source on every row; JSON on request. The 20-row sample arrives within one business day. A full province usually takes one or two business days, because every website has to be visited one by one to read the published emails.
Can I get a contact list of Italian nurseries by province?
Yes: one province starts at €290. With nurseries it often pays to think in municipalities: you can name a list of towns, a radius in kilometres around one of your warehouses, or ask for production nurseries only, without the garden centres. There is no national package you have to buy whole.
What guarantee is there on quality?
