QuanticData for AI agents: read, register, pay and call
QuanticData is a web-data and proxy platform an AI agent can use without a person clicking through a dashboard. The agent reads the site as Markdown, installs five skills in one command, opens an account with a verified email, pays a plan from the balance and calls 29 tools over MCP or REST, paying only for calls that succeed.
$2 of free API usage per month · No card required · Failed calls are never billed
GET https://quanticdata.io/llms.txt → "If you are an agent": index.md twins, auth.md, SKILL.md, MCP, REST npx skills add https://quanticdata.io → 5 skills: use-data-api, use-mcp-server, scrape-to-markdown, generate-proxies, find-business-leads POST https://app.quanticdata.io/api/v1/agent/auth {"method":"verified_email","email":"[email protected]"} → 200 pending · a 6-digit code is in the user's mailbox # claim the code → one API key for data, proxies and checkout
Read us as data, not as a website
Nothing on quanticdata.io needs a browser. Every page has a Markdown twin at the same URL plus index.md, announced in the page head with <link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown">, and the whole site is concatenated in one file. The API reference exists as HTML, Markdown, OpenAPI 3.1 and a Postman collection, so an agent can read the shape of every call before it makes one.
- Start here: llms.txt, the curated index of every product, tool, collector and guide, with a section written for agents at the top.
- Any page as Markdown: append
index.md; this page is for-agents/index.md. The whole site: llms-full.txt. - The API reference: docs, docs/index.md, openapi.json, openapi.yaml and postman.json. The Agents tag documents registration and the checkout below.
- Credentials, written for agents: auth.md, one file that says which credential each surface wants and how to obtain it.
One command
Install the skills and the MCP server
Five SKILL.md files teach Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and any agent that reads the open Agent Skills format how to call the API, connect the MCP server, turn pages into Markdown, generate proxy lines and find business leads. The MCP server exposes the same 29 tools to any MCP client, locally with a key or hosted with OAuth.
# one command, 70+ agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI…) npx skills add https://quanticdata.io # the index the command reads # https://quanticdata.io/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json
Three ways to authenticate
One account holds everything: the API key calls the data API, lists and generates proxies from the plans, and completes a checkout. How the credential is issued depends on who is at the keyboard.
| Credential | Who obtains it | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
API key qd_live_… from the dashboard | A person, on the API keys page, then hands it to the agent | The person already has an account or wants to stay in control of the key |
| API key from the verified-email registration | The agent itself: it sends the person's email, the person reads a 6-digit code from their mailbox | No account yet and no browser in the loop. Tutorial |
| OAuth 2.1 access token | The MCP client signs the person in; no key is copied | Claude, Cursor and any client with MCP authorization talking to the hosted server |
Anonymous registration and identity assertions are not offered: a person always confirms the account once, by reading one code. After that the agent runs alone, and the person can see, rotate or revoke the key at any time.
What the agent can do with that key
The 29 MCP tools and the REST endpoints are the same calls with the same prices: every successful call is billed at its unit price, a failed, blocked or empty call is not.
Search
Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo as JSON, 17 verticals, with search_and_read fetching the top pages as Markdown for RAG. POST /v1/serp, /v1/serp/bulk for many pages. SERP API for agents
Read pages
Any URL as clean Markdown, HTML, text or extracted fields; batch over many URLs; map and crawl whole sites. POST /v1/scrape, /v1/batch, /v1/map, /v1/crawl.
Unlock and watch
The Web Unlocker for pages that refuse plain requests, the Video API for YouTube transcripts and frames, the SEO audit that fetches a URL as a bot and as a browser.
Collectors and datasets
100+ ready-made scrapers run with a keyword, a place id or a domain instead of URLs, and a dataset builder that turns a prompt into rows. /v1/scraper/collectors.
Proxies
Residential, mobile, datacenter, ISP and IPv6 plans listed and bought with the key, proxy lines generated with country, state, city, rotation and session options. GET /v1/public/plans, POST /v1/public/proxies/generate.
Account
The live price list with the account's discount, the free allowance left this month, the balance and the per-minute limits, so the agent can budget without a dashboard. GET /v1/scraper/billing, /v1/scraper/usage.
What to ask the human, and what never to ask
An agent on QuanticData needs a person exactly twice, and both moments are designed to be short.
- The code, once. Before registering, tell the person which service you are registering with. Then ask them for the 6 digits in the email whose subject ends with "an AI agent asked to register". The code lives 10 minutes.
- A top-up or a plan, when the balance is short. A checkout the balance cannot cover answers
requires_escalationwith acontinue_url: give the person that link and stop. They pay by card, PayPal or crypto on the dashboard; you poll the session until it iscompleted. - Never a password: the account the agent opens has none the agent knows; the person signs in through the password reset link.
- Never card details: the agent holds one instrument, the prepaid balance of its own account. Cards exist only on the dashboard, in the person's hands.
- Never the key in chat: it is returned once, by the API, and belongs in an environment variable. The person can rotate or revoke it from the API keys page.
Buy a plan by itself
QuanticData publishes a checkout in the Universal Commerce Protocol shape (UCP, capability dev.ucp.shopping.checkout) at /.well-known/ucp. The agent opens a session for one plan from GET /v1/public/plans, reads the real total, and completes it with the one payment handler an agent owns, the account balance, at 0% VAT. If the balance is short, the session carries the link where the person finishes the order. The plainer, non-UCP way to do the same is POST /v1/public/purchase. Step by step: let an agent buy proxies.
POST https://api.quanticdata.io/v1/agent/ucp/checkout-sessions
Authorization: Bearer qd_live_… Idempotency-Key: order-2026-10-26-001
{"line_items":[{"item":{"id":"PLAN_ID"},"quantity":1}],"payment_method":"BALANCE"}
→ 201 { "status": "ready_for_complete", "totals": [ … ], "continue_url": "…" }
POST …/checkout-sessions/SESSION_ID/complete
{"payment":{"instruments":[{"handler_id":"balance","type":"account_balance","selected":true}]}}
→ 200 { "status": "completed", "order": { "id": "ord_…" } } # then POST /v1/public/proxies/generate
Prices and limits an agent can read
Unit prices are published on the pricing page and in llms.txt; the live list with the account's own discount comes back from GET /v1/scraper/billing. The entry prices an agent meets first:
| What | Published price | Billed when |
|---|---|---|
| SERP search (Bing, DuckDuckGo) | $0.0009 per search | the search returns results |
| SERP search (Google and rich verticals) | $0.002 per search | the search returns results |
| Page scraped | $0.0015 per page | the page is delivered |
| Crawled page | $0.0003 per page | the page is fetched; unfetched pages are refunded |
| Residential proxies | from $0.80/GB | traffic through the plan |
- Free tier: $2 of free API usage every month on every account, no card to start, renewed monthly.
- No subscription, $0 monthly minimum: pay as you go from a prepaid balance that does not expire; the smallest top-up the dashboard accepts is $5.
- Limits on pay as you go: 20 requests a minute per key and 5 concurrent batch slots; the paid tiers raise both and discount unit prices by 10% to 30% (see rate limits and tiers). A 429 carries
Retry-Afterand is not billed. - Registration caps: 5 registrations an hour and 20 a day per IP, 3 codes an hour per email, 5 wrong codes cancel a registration.

Paste into AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md
These lines give a coding agent the whole picture in the place it keeps standing instructions. They repeat what the five skills say, in the short form a repository wants.
## QuanticData (web data, SERP, proxies)
- Read first: https://quanticdata.io/llms.txt (index), https://quanticdata.io/auth.md (credentials),
https://quanticdata.io/docs/index.md (API reference as Markdown).
- Install the skills once: npx skills add https://quanticdata.io
- MCP: claude mcp add quanticdata -e QUANTICDATA_API_KEY=... -- npx -y quanticdata-mcp
or the hosted server https://api.quanticdata.io/mcp (OAuth, no key to copy).
- The key lives in QUANTICDATA_API_KEY, never in code, logs or chat. No key yet: follow the
verified-email registration in auth.md; tell the user first, then ask them for the 6-digit code.
- REST: https://api.quanticdata.io/v1, Authorization: Bearer; every reply is
{type, message, payload}; type "error" is never billed.
- Budget before big jobs: GET /v1/scraper/billing (prices, free allowance left, balance).
Pay as you go allows 20 requests a minute: use /v1/batch for many URLs, /v1/serp/bulk for many pages.
- Buying a plan: POST /v1/agent/ucp/checkout-sessions, complete it from the balance only.
If the balance is short, give the user continue_url and stop. Never ask for card details.
The setting to start with
npx skills add https://quanticdata.io, then a key: from the API keys page if a person is around, from the verified-email registration if not. Every account starts with $2 of free API usage per month and pays per successful call after that.
Sources and standards
The standards these pages implement, so an agent can check the shapes against their specifications:
- Model Context Protocol: tools, Streamable HTTP transport and authorization
- Agent Skills: the open SKILL.md format
- llms.txt: the proposal for an index file written for language models
- Universal Commerce Protocol: overview, the shopping service and the checkout capability
- RFC 9727: api-catalog, a well-known URI for publishing an API catalog
- RFC 9728: OAuth 2.0 protected resource metadata
Can an AI agent sign up by itself?
Yes, with a verified email. The agent sends the email address of the person it works for to the register endpoint, QuanticData emails that person a 6-digit code, the person reads it to the agent and the agent exchanges it for an API key. No password, browser or captcha; anonymous registration is not offered.
Does the agent need a card or a password?
No. Every account starts with $2 of free API usage per month, so the first calls cost nothing. The account the agent opens has a random password nobody knows; the person signs in later through the password reset link. Cards, PayPal and crypto exist only on the dashboard, in the person's hands.
Which clients and frameworks can use QuanticData?
Any MCP client, locally with the quanticdata-mcp package or hosted at api.quanticdata.io/mcp with OAuth: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Cline and others. Any language over REST, with a Python package and Postman collection. The skills install into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and any agent that reads SKILL.md.
Can the agent buy proxies without a person?
When the balance covers the plan, yes: it opens a UCP checkout session for one plan and completes it with the balance handler at 0% VAT, then generates proxy lines with the order id. When the balance is short, the session returns a continue_url where the person pays; the agent polls until the session is completed.
How does an agent know the prices and its budget?
GET /v1/scraper/billing returns the live price list with the account's discount, the free allowance left this month, the balance and the per-minute limits. Unit prices are also on the pricing page and in llms.txt. Only successful calls are billed, so a failed or empty call never costs anything.
What should an agent never do here?
Ask the person for a password or card details, print or send the API key, resend a purchase that timed out without reading the orders first, or register without telling the person which service it is registering with. The rules are in the five SKILL.md files and in the AGENTS.md block above.
