What this list of Italian insurance agencies is
It is the list of the insurance agencies in an Italian area (agencies holding one or more insurers’ mandates, brokers and insurers’ local offices), with agency name, office address, phone, website and the emails published on that website. It is not an archive to download: it is extracted when you order it, so the collection date is the delivery date.
Whoever looks for a list of insurance agencies in Italy mostly finds the lists of authorised insurers and the Registro unico degli intermediari (RUI), the single register of insurance intermediaries kept by IVASS, the Italian insurance supervisor, where agents and brokers are checked. It is the right tool to verify an intermediary. Our file is for whoever sells to agencies and needs the local office, phone, website and emails: it does not replace the RUI and does not say whether an intermediary is registered.
The numbers on this page are for Verona: the «agenzia assicurativa» search of 4 October 2026 exhausted the map results for the city and returned 142 listings; 17 belonged to other categories and we took them out, because that is exactly what the category column in the file is for. That leaves 125 agencies, brokers and insurers’ offices. The figure to look at: many agencies use their page on the insurer’s portal as their website, and 103 of 125 (82%) had a website.

These are the columns of the CSV or XLSX. Email and email type are read on each business’s own website, so they are filled only for the businesses with a reachable website.

The sector from the listing, not from the ATECO code
A company picks its ATECO activity code when it registers and often never updates it when the business changes. We take the category the business shows today on its public listing, on Google Maps and on the Italian national directories.
The operating address, not only the registered office
The address is where the business works and answers the phone, not the registered office in the company register, which is sometimes only an administrative address.

Compliance: what is in the file and what is up to you
The list contains business contacts only: agency name, operating address, published number, website and the emails the agency publishes on its own website or page. No policyholder data, no private contacts, no personal profiles bought from third parties.
For business-to-business contact the legal basis is legitimate interest, which the GDPR names explicitly for direct marketing in recital 47. Many agents work as sole traders or carry their own name on the sign: for them the contact detail counts as personal data and the processing has to be assessed case by case. IVASS’s RUI remains the official source to check an intermediary’s registration: our file does not replace it.
Email, SMS and automated messages need consent in Italy. Sending commercial communications through automated systems requires the recipient's prior consent, even when the recipient is a company or a professional (art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code): the email column is for whoever already has that consent, or for the cases where the law does not require it, such as existing customers for similar products. Calls with a live operator are allowed only to numbers not listed in the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni, Italy's do-not-call register.
When you receive the file you become an independent controller of the data: privacy notice, record of processing and replies to data subjects' requests are up to you.

It depends on the area. The only number we measured is Verona: 125 agencies and brokers in a single run on 4 October 2026, after removing other categories. We do not publish a national total because we have not counted one. It is not the RUI: IVASS’s register says who is registered, while our file gives sellers the office, phone, website and emails.
Does the file contain agencies, brokers or insurers?
All three, told apart by the category column: «Insurance agency» for agencies holding a mandate, «Insurance broker» for brokers, «Insurance company» for the insurers’ local offices. In Verona we counted them together in the 125, but you can order just one group, for example brokers only, and the quote is made on that part.
How many Italian insurance agencies in the list have an email?
The emails do not come from an archive: we read them on the agency’s website, even when it is a page on the insurer’s portal. In the Verona sample, 103 agencies out of 125 (82%) had a website to visit; for the others you get phone and address. In the free sample you see the real percentage for your area before you pay.
Is it legal to contact insurance agencies in Italy?
They are business contacts published by the agencies themselves. For B2B the GDPR allows legitimate interest under recital 47. Whoever receives the file becomes an independent controller. Agencies change mandates, merge and change hands more often than it seems. The status on the map (hours shown, temporarily or permanently closed) tells you, row by row, who is still operating. On request we rebuild the file every month and deliver only the changes.
Can I download the list as CSV or Excel, and how fast?
CSV and XLSX, with the source on every row; JSON on request. The 20-row sample arrives within one business day. A full province usually takes one or two business days, because every website has to be visited one by one to read the published emails.
Can I get a list of Italian insurance agencies by province?
Yes: one province starts at €290. With agencies it often pays to think in towns or categories: you can name a list of municipalities, a radius in kilometres around one of your offices, or ask for brokers only. There is no national package you have to buy whole before you can get your area.
What guarantee is there on quality?
