What this list of opticians in Italy is

It is the list of optical shops in an Italian area — independent opticians, optical centres and chain stores, including the shops that also fit contact lenses — with name, shop address, phone, website and the emails published on that website. It is not an archive to download: it is extracted when you order it, so the collection date is the delivery date.

Public lists exist and are free: some Italian Regions and local health authorities (ASL) publish the lists of authorised or contracted optical businesses. They are for checking an authorisation or a contract, and our file does not replace them. It is for those who sell to the shops — frame and lens makers, laboratories, instrument and software suppliers — and need the shop phone and the address where the work happens.

In Catania fewer than half of the opticians had a website (69 of 150), while the phone was on 131 listings: for those who sell to opticians, first contact goes through the phone or a visit to the shop. In the 10 rows below independents and chain stores sit side by side, and two shops of the same chain share the domain: the domain tells you who belongs to a group. In Catania the map search returned 156 listings; 6 belonged to other categories (a photo lab, a sunglasses shop, a medical practice) and we removed them. The run stopped before covering the whole city, so there are at least 150 opticians.

The optician contacts you get on every row

These are the columns of the CSV or XLSX. Email and social profiles are filled only for the shops with a reachable website: in Catania, fewer than half.

FieldTypeWhat it contains
Shop nametextThe sign the shop trades under, which often contains the surname of the optician who owns it.
CategorytextThe category of the listing and the secondary ones: optician, laboratory, contact-lens or sunglasses shop, when the listing declares it.
AddresstextStreet and number of the shop, the place where eyes are measured and where the goods are delivered.
City, province and postcodetextThree separate columns, so you can split the list by area or by sales agent without reworking it.
PhonetextThe number on the listing, normalised to international format. It is the channel that is almost always there: in Catania on 131 shops out of 150. Before a calling campaign the numbers must be screened against Italy's do-not-call register (Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni).
WebsiteURLThe shop domain. Chain stores share the domain of the group: you recognise them at a glance.
Email found on the websitetextThe emails published on the optician's website, read during enrichment. More than one when there are several.
Social profilesURLFacebook, Instagram and LinkedIn linked from the website: a second channel, and a way to see which brands the shop carries.
Opening hourstextThe hours on the listing, when there are any: useful to call or drop by outside the shop's busy hours.
Rating and reviewsnumberAverage star rating and number of reviews: an order of magnitude of the shop's clientele.
Date of last reviewdateWhen someone last wrote a review: the most honest signal that the shop is still open.
Activeyes / doubtful / noFlag computed from the date of the last review and the website status. «Doubtful» means to be checked, not to be thrown away.
Operating address confirmedyes / noIt is yes when the map and the national directory show the same shop address.
Source per rowtextGoogle Maps, national directory or both. On request we add the VAT number where the register shows it, checked on VIES.

How we build the list

Five choices that decide how many right rows end up in the file.

The sector from the listing, not from the ATECO code

A company picks its ATECO activity code when it registers and often never updates it when the business changes. We take the category the business shows today on its public listing, on Google Maps and on the Italian national directories.

The operating address, not only the registered office

The address is where the business works and answers the phone, not the registered office in the company register, which is sometimes only an administrative address.

Source and date for every field

Next to phone, website and email you see where the value came from and the day we read it.

Measured coverage

Every list says how many rows really have a phone, a website or an email, counted and not estimated. On this page, in Catania: phone 87% (131 of 150), website 46% (69 of 150). Email coverage is measured in the sample from your area.

Every month, only the changes

With the monthly refresh you receive new openings, closures and changed contact details, not the whole list again.

Before a calling campaign, Italian numbers must be screened against the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni, Italy's do-not-call register. A business that finds itself in a list can ask to be removed: remove your business from our lists.

How the list is built

From the map to the file, step by step

Five steps, always the same. They are the same public collectors you find in the API: if you prefer, you can run them yourself.

1. Extraction from the map

The google_maps_places collector sweeps the area you name and collects every optician listing: name, category, address, phone, website, opening hours, rating and reviews.

2. National directories for the shops without a website

The business_directory collector goes over the same area on Pagine Gialle and Pagine Bianche. Where more than half of the shops have no website, it is the second source that confirms address and phone.

3. Deduplication on name and street

We normalise name and address (owner's surname, abbreviations, company forms) and merge the listings that describe the same shop. One row is left, with the source noted.

4. Enrichment from the website

The local_business_leads collector visits the website of each optician and extracts the published emails, other numbers and the social profiles. The emails come from the website, not from a purchased archive, and we know from which page.

5. «Active» flag and delivery

From the date of the last review and the website status we derive the active / doubtful / no flag, then export to CSV or XLSX with the source on every row. On request we check the VAT numbers on VIES.

10 rows out of 150 opticians extracted in Catania, taken only from the listings with the optician category; phones and emails are masked on this page. The run stopped before covering the whole city, so there are at least 150 opticians. Measured on 2026-10-01 in a single run; the counts refer to the city named, not to the whole of Italy.

Who buys a list of optical shops in Italy

Not people looking for a pair of glasses: companies that sell to optical stores and need the shop phone and the address where the work happens.

Frame makers and distributors

Collections presented by the agent in the shop: you need coverage of the province, with chain stores separated from independents through the domain.

Ophthalmic lens laboratories and makers

Custom lenses and third-party fitting: the natural customers are the shops without an in-house lab, to be called on the phone.

Contact lenses and solutions

Recurring reorders: the listing category points to the centres that handle contact lenses.

Optometry instruments

Autorefractors, slit lamps, edgers: an investment to offer to the shops with more reviews or that have just opened.

Software for opticians

Customer records, recalls, till: in Catania 81 shops out of 150 had no website, and they are also the first who need an online shop window.

Sunglasses and multi-brand agents

Agents who represent several brands build their round by area, with postcode, opening hours and active flag.

A bought list versus a list built on request

The six differences that matter when you sell to opticians.

Bought listThis list
FreshnessA static file: usually it does not say when it was collected.Extracted the day you order it; on request it comes back every month with the changes only.
Source per rowOne big pool, with no way to know where each contact comes from.Every row states the source: map, national directory or both.
AddressOften the registered office: for chains, the head office. The shop address, with the «confirmed» flag when the two sources agree.
Chains and independentsMixed with no way to separate them. The website domain on every row: chain stores are recognised and filtered.
Closed shopsNo signal: you find out by calling.Active / doubtful / no flag and date of the last review on every row.
Pricing modelA package to buy whole, often national.20 free rows, then from $0.01 per lead through the API or from €290 per province.

Frequently asked questions

What buyers ask us before ordering. If something is missing, ask for the sample and write the question in the form: a person replies.

Ask for your sample →

How many opticians are there in Italy?

We have not counted a national total, so we do not publish one. The only number we measured is Catania: at least 150 shops in a single run on 1 October 2026, which stopped before covering the whole city. Before you order we tell you how many rows come out of your province, and the free sample comes from that same area.

How up to date is the data?

It is current to the day of extraction, because the list is generated when you order it instead of being pulled from an archive. The date of the last review tells you, row by row, how recently someone visited the shop. On request we rebuild the file every month and deliver only the changes.

Can I get opticians' email addresses in Italy?

Yes, but fewer than phones. We read the emails on the shop website, and in Catania only 69 opticians out of 150 (46%) had a website to visit, while the phone was on 131 listings out of 150 (87%). In the free sample you see the real percentages for your area before you pay.

Are chain stores included, or only independent opticians?

Both. In the 10 Catania rows independents and chain stores sit side by side. Every row carries the website domain, and shops of the same chain share it, so you can filter the groups out or keep only them. The address is always the shop's, not the head office of the chain.

Is it legal to contact opticians? What about the official lists?

They are business contacts published by the shops themselves, and for B2B the GDPR allows legitimate interest under recital 47; sole traders are flagged separately. You become an independent controller and must screen the numbers against Italy's do-not-call register. To check an authorisation or a contract, use the free lists of the Regions and ASL: our file does not certify it.

Can I download the list as CSV or Excel, and how fast?

CSV and XLSX, with the source on every row; JSON on request. The 20-row sample arrives within one business day. A full province usually takes one or two business days, because the website of every shop has to be visited one by one to read emails and social profiles.

Can I buy just one province or one city?

Yes, and it is the most requested cut: one province starts at €290. You can also name a list of municipalities or a radius in kilometres around a point. There is no national package you have to buy whole before you can get your area.

API or finished file: which is better?

The API makes sense if you have someone to integrate it and you want to rebuild the list yourself: you pay from $0.01 per lead and get $2 of free credit every month. The finished file makes sense if you need a province already deduplicated, enriched and checked, without writing a line of code.

What guarantee is there on quality?

Before buying you get 20 real rows from your area for free. After buying, every field we deliver is guaranteed: if a field is wrong, for example an email that does not exist, that row is refunded. For phones the refund applies when the number does not exist or is not valid, not when nobody answers, because a phone that is switched off cannot be verified. The guarantee covers the fields of the list you bought (with «phone only», the phone) and the period to report a row is stated in the order.

Can I import the opticians list into my CRM?

Yes. The list arrives as CSV and XLSX with one column per field, so it loads through the contact import of HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Odoo or monday CRM, or opens in Excel and Google Sheets. With the API the rows go straight into your systems, without a file.

Want to see 20 opticians from your area?

Tell us the city or the province: we send you 20 complete rows within one business day, with no account and no card.
