Google Autocomplete API
The suggestions Google offers while someone types, returned as JSON: the suggested query, its position, a relevance score and its type. This is the SERP API with search_type: "autocomplete", by country and language, billed per call. It is how keyword research starts from real demand.
![A Google autocomplete call for the seed serp api in the US: the search box in the middle with the seed typed and the suggestion list below it, the first one marked, and the real suggestions[0] JSON: rank 1, serp api pricing, relevance 601, type QUERY. $0.0009 per search, whatever the tier.](/serp-api/google/autocomplete/hero.webp?v=20261030api)
What you get
One suggestion, one object.
| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
rank | Position in the list |
value | The suggested query |
relevance | Google's relevance score for it |
type | Suggestion type ("QUERY") |
Run a seed and its variants ("buy …", "… pricing", "… for") and keep what comes back: that is demand people type, not a guess.
Example
One request, one JSON answer.
curl -X POST https://api.quanticdata.io/v1/scraper/serp \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"query":"serp api","search_type":"autocomplete","country":"us"}'import requests
r = requests.post("https://api.quanticdata.io/v1/scraper/serp",
headers={"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"},
json={"query": "serp api", "search_type": "autocomplete", "country": "us"})
for s in r.json()["payload"]["suggestions"]:
print(s["rank"], s["value"], s["relevance"]){
"rank": 1,
"value": "serp api pricing",
"relevance": 601,
"type": "QUERY"
}The answer is the usual envelope: payload.suggestions holds the list above, payload.search_metadata says which tier answered and how long it took.
Parameters
Which seed, which market.
| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
query | The seed, as someone would start typing it |
country | Proxy exit and Google locale (gl), ISO code: us, gb, de, it… |
lang | Interface language (hl): en, de, it… |
device | desktop (default), mobile, ios or android |
Every parameter, for every vertical, is in the API reference.
Price
Per search, nothing monthly.
Every successful search costs $0.0009, whatever the tier. In our test on 30 October 2026 the call answered in 0.78 seconds.
Failed searches are not charged. There is no subscription: a $2 free credit every month covers the first calls, then you top up your balance by card, PayPal or crypto.
If you would rather pay per suggestion than per search, the Google Autocomplete collector returns the same data at $0.0002 per delivered suggestion (up to 20 per run), with no pagination to handle.
Every price per search and per vertical: SERP API pricing.
Official API or this one
Google offers no supported API for suggestions.
Google publishes no supported API for its search suggestions.
This endpoint returns them as JSON for the country and language you choose, at a fixed price per call. We use it ourselves to pick the topics of our pages.
Use cases
What teams build with it.
Keyword research: every suggestion for a seed in each market, with its rank and relevance.
Content planning: questions and modifiers people type around a product.
Localisation: the words a German or Spanish buyer actually types, not a translation.
Before you call it
Questions developers ask
What is the relevance score?
Google's own score for the suggestion; higher means it is suggested more strongly. Use it to rank suggestions from the same seed.
Can I get suggestions for another country?
Yes: country and lang set the market. The same seed returns different suggestions in each.
What does a call cost?
$0.0009 per call, always on the plain tier.
Is there a YouTube version?
Yes, the YouTube autocomplete collector.
How many suggestions per call?
As many as Google shows for the seed: 15 for "serp api" in our test on 30 October 2026.
