Residential Proxies for Price Monitoring

Residential proxies for price monitoring are home-ISP IP addresses that let you check competitors' prices, stock and promotions as shoppers in a chosen country or city see them. Each request can leave from a new home IP, with the state and city set in the username. Plans start at $1.00/GB and fall to $0.80/GB, with a free 100 MB trial.

On 28 September 2026 one products.json request to a Shopify storefront through a residential exit returned 250 products and 2,720 variants in 1,759,991 bytes.

What is price monitoring, and why does it need a proxy?

Price monitoring is the routine collection of public prices, stock levels, delivery estimates and promotions from retailer and marketplace sites, so a brand, a retailer or an analyst can see the market as shoppers see it. The catch is that the same product page shows different prices to different visitors: online stores localize by country, by state and often by store or ZIP code, and many show a different page to traffic from a datacenter. A price report is only true for the place it was fetched from. Brands check that resellers respect their pricing policy, retailers compare their shelf with competitors every morning, and analysts build price indices by region. Each of those jobs needs exits in the right places and a request rate a shopper would produce.

What people use residential proxies for in price monitoring

Four workflows we see in price monitoring. None of them needs a proxy to break the stores' rules; all of them need a network location and a reputation the platform treats as ordinary.

Competitor price tracking

Fetch the same products on rival stores every day, from the country and city whose prices you compare.

MAP and reseller compliance

Check that authorized resellers and marketplace sellers keep to your minimum advertised price in each market.

Stock and delivery checks

Record availability and delivery estimates per ZIP code or city, where stores localize them.

Promotion and markdown monitoring

Capture discounts, coupons and markdown timing on public product and category pages.

Why residential proxies for price monitoring

Price collection at volume is residential work: rotating home IPs with state and city targeting from $1.00/GB down to $0.80, so each product page is fetched from an address in the market it reports on, at a rate a shopper would produce.

What a proxy does not do. A proxy makes the request originate in the market whose prices you report; it does not change a store's terms for automated access, and the scope is public prices, not accounts or checkouts. Carrier IPs for the same job are on the mobile proxies for price monitoring page.

Best residential proxies for price monitoring

Price checks want a new exit per product page, so no session ID; a run that must keep one store or ZIP context keeps a sticky session for its length. Prices, stock and delivery estimates depend on country, state and store, so each page leaves from the market it reports on. With QuanticData the exits asked for most are the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, with state and city targeting in the username at no extra cost.

A product page is light once images are skipped, so price checks are cheap per page; rendering every page in a browser multiplies the bytes. On the residential network that means Residential Basic for rotating exits and sessions of up to 120 minutes, Premium for sessions of up to 24 hours, from $1.00/GB with a free 100 MB trial. For price monitoring the residential network is the usual choice: the work is mostly collecting prices, stock and listings per market, and a home-ISP exit in the right country is what that needs.

Which session to use for price monitoring: sticky or rotating

Rotating (new IP per request). Rotate per product page; use a sticky session only when a run must keep one store, ZIP or currency context across pages. Country, session and targeting go in the username; credentials are in your dashboard after purchase.

# PROXY_HOST = host:port shown in your dashboard
# rotating: a new home IP on every request
curl -x "$PROXY_HOST" -U "USER-country-us:PASS" https://ipinfo.io/json

# sticky: keep one IP for a session (session ID and lifetime are set in the generator;
# up to 120 minutes on Basic, up to 24 hours on Premium)
curl -x "$PROXY_HOST" -U "USER-country-us-sid-pricem-ttl-30m:PASS" https://ipinfo.io/json

# state and city targeting
curl -x "$PROXY_HOST" -U "USER-country-us-region-REGION-city-CITY:PASS" https://ipinfo.io/json
QuanticData residential proxy username in rotating mode: only -country-us, no session ID, so request 1, 2 and 3 each leave from a different IP.
What a request looks like. The whole configuration travels in the username — no session ID, so every request to the stores you monitor leaves from a different exit; host, port and password never change. USER and PASS stand for the credentials in your dashboard.

Residential Basic, per GB, bandwidth valid for the whole plan term. Intermediate bundles and the Premium line (from $2.20/GB, city and ISP catalog) are on the plans page. Free trial: 100 MB on Basic for 5 days, no card.

The same pool at every tier — a small test costs exactly $1.00/GB. Full ladder and terms on the pricing page.

How to start with price monitoring in minutes

  1. Create a free QuanticData account and open Plans → Residential; pick a bundle — $1.00/GB is enough to test price monitoring on your real workflow.
  2. Copy host, port, username and password from the dashboard. Put the country in the username (-country-us), and state or city if the job is local (-region-…-city-…), and a session ID with a lifetime when the price monitoring flow must keep one IP.
  3. Fetch public product and category pages through rotating exits in the market you report on, with the store or ZIP code set once per run; QuanticData collectors return Amazon, Walmart and eBay prices as JSON if you prefer an API.
  4. Run a small sample first and watch how the stores you monitor respond; a residential IP is not a promise of access, acceptance or a particular success rate, and the stores' terms and the law apply to what you do through it.

Set it up for Price Monitoring

QuanticData residential proxies are standard HTTP and SOCKS5 endpoints: a host, a port, a username and a password, shown in your dashboard the moment a plan is active. The username carries the country, the state and the city, and the session; host, port and password never change. Below, a request to a public product page through the residential gateway, with no session ID in the username, so every request to the stores you monitor leaves from a different home IP. Rotate per product page, keep a page every few seconds per exit, and pin the country, state or city whose prices you report.

# PROXY_HOST and PORT are shown in your dashboard
curl --proxy "http://PROXY_HOST:PORT" \
  --proxy-user "USER-country-us:PASS" \
  --connect-timeout 10 --max-time 30 \
  -A "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) Chrome/128.0 Safari/537.36" \
  "https://shop.example.com/product/12345"
import requests

# host and port from your dashboard; country and session in the username
proxy = "http://USER-country-us:PASS@PROXY_HOST:PORT"
r = requests.get("https://shop.example.com/product/12345",
                 proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy},
                 headers={"User-Agent": "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) Chrome/128.0 Safari/537.36"},
                 timeout=30)
print(r.status_code, len(r.text))

SOCKS5 works with the same username on the SOCKS5 port (socks5h:// in Python's proxies, --socks5-hostname in curl), so the hostname is resolved at the exit.

Something else? Ask us

Do residential proxies work for price monitoring?

QuanticData residential proxies work for price monitoring the way any proxy does: they change the network your traffic leaves from, to real home-ISP IPs in 200+ countries. A proxy makes the request originate in the market whose prices you report; it does not change a store's terms for automated access, and the scope is public prices, not accounts or checkouts.

Which proxy session should I use for price monitoring: sticky or rotating?

QuanticData recommends rotating IPs for price monitoring. Rotate per product page; use a sticky session only when a run must keep one store, ZIP or currency context across pages. Sessions are set in the username (a session ID and a lifetime, up to 120 minutes on Basic, up to 24 hours on Premium), so no proxy list is needed.

Why do prices change when I switch proxies?

QuanticData customers see this on most large stores: online prices are localized by country, state, store or ZIP code, and the exit is one of the inputs a store uses to pick the price it shows. Fix the market in the username and the store or ZIP in the session, and the same product page returns the same localized price on every run; change the exit and you are reading a different market.

How do I set up a residential proxy for price monitoring?

QuanticData gives you host, port, username and password the moment a plan is active: create a free account, open Plans → Residential, pick a bundle ($1.00/GB to start) and copy the credentials from the dashboard. Fetch public product and category pages through rotating exits in the market you report on, with the store or ZIP code set once per run; QuanticData collectors return Amazon, Walmart and eBay prices as JSON if you prefer an API. For price monitoring, the countries asked for most are the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.

Can I use Proxifier with QuanticData for price monitoring?

QuanticData residential proxies are standard HTTP and SOCKS5 endpoints with a host, a port, a username and a password, so any client that accepts a proxy node works, Proxifier included: enter those four values as a proxy server of type HTTPS or SOCKS5 in Proxifier on the desktop, with a rule for the application, and price monitoring traffic from the applications matched by the rule leaves through the exit set in the username. For price monitoring leave the session out of the username so every new connection rotates to a fresh IP, or add a session ID when a flow must keep one. Host and port are in your dashboard; the HTTP and the SOCKS5 port are different, so pick the one that matches the node type.

Is there a free residential proxy for price monitoring?

QuanticData does not give away residential proxies for price monitoring: what is free is the trial — 100 MB on Residential Basic for 5 days, no card — enough to run a small price monitoring test before the $5 starter. Public "free proxy" lists are shared addresses the storefronts already know, which is why they answer with captchas or empty pages; they also change daily, so nothing built on them keeps working for long.

Mobile or residential proxies for price monitoring?

QuanticData's answer for price monitoring is residential, the network this page is about: the work is collecting public prices, stock and promotions per market, and home-ISP addresses in 200+ countries with state and city targeting cost from $1.00/GB. Mobile is worth its higher price only for app-only prices and deals; the mobile page for price monitoring covers that case.
