What is the difference between web scraping and crawling?

Scraping is about one page: you already know the URL and you want its content as data. Crawling is about discovery: from one seed URL the platform follows internal links breadth-first, up to depth 10, and returns every page it finds. Map does the discovery half alone — the URL list without the content.

Does the platform render JavaScript?

Yes, and only when it is needed. The default auto engine tries a real-browser TLS fingerprint first — fast and cheap — and escalates to a stealth headless browser when the response looks like an anti-bot challenge. You can also force rendering per request for pages whose content only exists after JavaScript runs.

What output formats do I get?

Markdown by default, plus HTML, plain text and page metadata — title, description, author, publish date, canonical URL. Structured extraction returns a typed JSON object, and responses can be chunked by heading, sentence or token count so they drop straight into a RAG pipeline or a vector database.
