## What this list of Italian bike shops is

**It is the list of the cycling businesses in an Italian area (bike and e-bike shops, repair workshops, known in Italy as ciclofficine, and bike hire), with business name, operating address, phone, website and the emails published on that website.** It is not an archive to download: it is extracted when you order it, so the collection date is the delivery date.

The count covers three kinds of business, and we say it upfront because it changes the list: in Ferrara 16 are bike shops, 11 repair workshops and 3 bike hire services, one of them run by a hotel. They are different categories on the map and stay separate in the category column: a parts supplier wants the workshops too, an e-bike brand perhaps only the shops.

The numbers on this page are for **Ferrara**: the «negozio biciclette» search of 4 October 2026 exhausted the map results for the city and returned 45 listings; 15 belonged to other categories (sports shops, motorbike dealers and parts, tyre shops, a bar, a bakery and a second-hand market) and we took them out, because that is what the category column is for. That leaves 30 businesses from a single run.

## The fields you get on every row

These are the columns of the CSV or XLSX. Email and website appear only on the rows of businesses that publish them.

| Field | Type | What it contains |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Business | text | The name the business shows on its public listing. |
| Category | text | The category the listing shows today. Listings of other categories are left out. |
| Address, postcode, comune and province | text | The **operating address**, where the business works and answers, in separate columns so you can split the list by area. |
| Phone and Phone 2 | text | The published numbers, in international format. Before a calling campaign the numbers must be screened against Italy's do-not-call register (Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni). |
| Email and email type | text | The email the business publishes on its own website, with its type: generic, personal or certified (PEC). Empty when we did not find one. |
| Website | URL | The business domain when we find it on the listing; empty when we do not. |
| Operating address check | yes / no | Yes when the map listing and the national directory listing show the same address. |
| Status on the map | text | Hours shown, temporarily closed or permanently closed, as the listing shows it on the day we read it. |
| Rating and number of reviews | number | The average rating and the review count of the listing: an order of magnitude of the client volume. |
| Directory and map listing | URL | The two public pages the row comes from: the source of every value, open to check. |
| Checked on | date | The day we read the sources for that row. |
| Row ID | text | A stable code, so the same business does not reach you twice across orders. |

## How we build the list

Four choices that decide how many right rows end up in the file.

### The sector from the listing, not from the ATECO code

A company picks its ATECO activity code when it registers and often never updates it when the business changes. We take the category the business shows today on its public listing, on Google Maps and on the Italian national directories.

### The operating address, not only the registered office

The address is where the business works and answers the phone, not the registered office in the company register, which is sometimes only an administrative address.

### Source and date on every row

Every row carries the links to the two public listings it comes from and the day we read it.

### Every month, only the changes

With the monthly refresh you receive new openings, closures and changed contact details, not the whole list again.

Before a calling campaign, Italian numbers must be screened against the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni, Italy's do-not-call register. A business that finds itself in a list can ask to be removed: [remove your business from our lists](https://quanticdata.io/leads/removal/).

## Who buys a list of bike shops in Italy

Not someone looking for a bike: companies that sell to shops and workshops and need the counter and the phone, not the registered office.

### Bike and e-bike brands and distributors

Whoever looks for new dealers starts from the shops in the area that do not carry the brand yet.

### Parts, components and accessories

Tyres, drivetrains, helmets and lights are also sold to workshops, so the repair category counts.

### E-bike service and batteries

Service centres and battery suppliers look for equipped workshops close to their customers.

### Bike insurance and anti-theft

Theft and damage policies offered at the point of sale: a product for the shop counter.

### Workshop, booking and rental software

Job cards, workshop management and hire bookings: shops with a website are the most ready for a demo.

### Cycling tourism

Hotels, tour operators and tourism consortia look for workshops and hire along cycle routes: address and category make the filter.

## Compliance: what is in the file and what is up to you

The list contains **business contacts only**: business name, operating address, published number, website and the emails the business publishes on its own website. No consumer data, no private contacts, no data about the shops’ customers, no personal profiles bought from third parties.

For business-to-business contact the legal basis is legitimate interest, which the GDPR names explicitly for direct marketing in [recital 47](https://gdpr-info.eu/recitals/no-47/). Many bike shops and workshops are sole traders: for them the contact detail counts as personal data and the processing has to be assessed case by case.

**Email, SMS and automated messages need consent in Italy.** Sending commercial communications through automated systems requires the recipient's prior consent, even when the recipient is a company or a professional (art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code): the email column is for whoever already has that consent, or for the cases where the law does not require it, such as existing customers for similar products. Calls with a live operator are allowed only to numbers not listed in the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni, Italy's do-not-call register.

When you receive the file you become an **independent controller** of the data: privacy notice, record of processing and replies to data subjects' requests are up to you.

If your business is in one of our lists and you want it out, the business name and the contact detail to remove are enough: [remove your business from our lists](https://quanticdata.io/leads/removal/).

### How many bike shops are there in Italy?

It depends on the area. The only number we measured is Ferrara: 30 bike shops, repair workshops and bike hire services in a single run on 4 October 2026, which exhausted the map results for the city, after removing other categories. We do not publish a national total because we have not counted one. Before you order we tell you how many rows come out of your province.

### Does the list include bike repair workshops and bike hire?

Yes, and they are counted: of the 30 results in Ferrara, 16 were bike shops, 11 repair workshops and 3 hire services. They stay separate in the category column, so you can keep only the shops or only the workshops. Sports shops and motorbike dealers are outside the count; on request we add them.

### How up to date is the data?

It is current to the day of extraction: the list is generated when you order it, not pulled from an archive. Workshops and hire services open and close with the season, and many shops change the brands they carry. The map status shows, row by row, who is marked as temporarily or permanently closed. On request it comes back every month with the changes only.

### How many Italian bike shops in the list have an email?

The emails do not come from an archive: we read them on the shop’s website, so coverage depends on how many have one. In the Ferrara sample 26 businesses out of 30 had a published phone. In the free sample you see the real percentage for your area before you pay.

### Is it legal to contact these bike shops?

They are business contacts published by the businesses themselves; for B2B the GDPR allows legitimate interest (recital 47). Commercial emails and SMS sent through automated systems need the recipient's prior consent (art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code), except the soft-spam case of existing customers for similar products. Operator calls are allowed to numbers not listed in Italy's do-not-call register, the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni. With the file you become an independent controller.

### Can I download the list as CSV or Excel, and how fast?

CSV and XLSX, with the source on every row; JSON on request. The 20-row sample arrives within one business day, a full province usually in one or two, because every website is visited to read the emails. With one column per field the file loads into HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Zoho CRM, or opens in Excel.

### Can I get a contact list of bike shops by province?

Yes: the price starts at €290 and depends on how many businesses come out of the area you name. You can name a list of municipalities, a region or a radius in kilometres along a cycle route. There is no national package you have to buy whole before you can get your area.

### API or finished file: which is better?

The API makes sense if you have someone to integrate it and you want to rebuild the list yourself: you pay from $0.01 per lead and get $2 of free credit every month. The finished file makes sense if you need a province already deduplicated, enriched and checked, without writing a line of code.

### What guarantee is there on quality?

Before buying you get 20 real rows from your area for free. After buying, every field we deliver is guaranteed: if a field is wrong, for example an email that does not exist, that row is refunded. For phones the refund applies when the number does not exist or is not valid, not when nobody answers. The period to report a row is stated in the order.
