## What this list of Italian body shops is

**It is the list of the auto body shops in an Italian area (carrozzerie, panel beaters and car paint shops), with business name, workshop address, phone, website and the emails published on that website.** It is not an archive to download: it is extracted when you order it, so the collection date is the delivery date.

Whoever looks for a list of body shops in Italy mostly lands on the **approved repairer networks** of insurance companies (carrozzerie convenzionate), where a driver takes the car after an accident. They are for whoever needs a repair. Our file is for whoever sells to body shops and needs all of them in an area, approved or not, with phone, website and email; it does not say which network a workshop belongs to. Under Italian law body repair is one of the three sections of vehicle repair, next to mechatronics and tyre fitting.

The numbers on this page are for **Turin**: the «carrozzeria» search of 4 October 2026 returned 211 listings; 24 belonged to other categories (mostly mechanical garages, then car washes, car wrapping and auto glass) and we took them out, because that is exactly what the category column in the file is for. That leaves 187 body shops.

### The sector from the listing, not from the ATECO code

A company picks its ATECO activity code when it registers and often never updates it when the business changes. We take the category the business shows today on its public listing, on Google Maps and on the Italian national directories.

### The operating address, not only the registered office

The address is where the business works and answers the phone, not the registered office in the company register, which is sometimes only an administrative address.

### Source and date on every row

Every row carries the links to the two public listings it comes from and the day we read it.

### Every month, only the changes

With the monthly refresh you receive new openings, closures and changed contact details, not the whole list again.

## Compliance: what is in the file and what is up to you

The list contains **business contacts only**: business name, workshop address, published number, website and the emails the body shop publishes on its own website. No consumer data, no private contacts, no customer or claims data, no personal profiles bought from third parties.

For business-to-business contact the legal basis is legitimate interest, which the GDPR names explicitly for direct marketing in [recital 47](https://gdpr-info.eu/recitals/no-47/). Many body shops are sole traders: for them the contact detail counts as personal data and the processing has to be assessed case by case. Italian Law no. 122 of 5 February 1992 splits vehicle repair into mechatronics, body repair and tyre fitting: our file does not check a company’s qualification.

**Email, SMS and automated messages need consent in Italy.** Sending commercial communications through automated systems requires the recipient's prior consent, even when the recipient is a company or a professional (art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code): the email column is for whoever already has that consent, or for the cases where the law does not require it, such as existing customers for similar products. Calls with a live operator are allowed only to numbers not listed in the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni, Italy's do-not-call register.

### How many auto body shops are there in Italy?

It depends on the area. The only number we measured is Turin: at least 187 body shops in a single run on 4 October 2026, after removing other categories. We do not publish a national total because we have not counted one. Before you order we tell you how many rows come out of your province.

### Is this an insurer’s list of approved body shops?

No. Lists of approved body shops (carrozzerie convenzionate) are published by insurance companies for their own policyholders, and each has its own network. Our file covers every body shop in the area, approved or not, and does not say which network it belongs to. It is for whoever sells to body shops: paint, parts, equipment, software. Mechanical garages and tyre shops stay out of the count.

### How up to date is the data?

It is current to the day of extraction, because the list is generated when you order it instead of being pulled from an archive. Body shops open, close and change hands: the map status shows, row by row, who is marked as temporarily or permanently closed. On request we rebuild the file every month and deliver only the changes.

### How many Italian body shops in the list have an email?

The emails do not come from an archive: we read them on the body shop website, so coverage depends on how many have one. In the Turin sample, 120 body shops out of 187 (64%) had a website to visit; for the others you get phone and address, and the phone was there on 182 rows. The free sample shows the real percentage for your area.

### Is it legal to contact these body shops?

They are business contacts published by the businesses themselves; for B2B the GDPR allows legitimate interest (recital 47). Commercial emails and SMS sent through automated systems need the recipient's prior consent (art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code), except the soft-spam case of existing customers for similar products. Operator calls are allowed to numbers not listed in Italy's do-not-call register, the Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni. With the file you become an independent controller.

### Can I download the list as CSV or Excel, and how fast?

CSV and XLSX, with the source on every row; JSON on request. The 20-row sample arrives within one business day. A full province usually takes one or two business days, because every website has to be visited one by one to read the emails.

### Can I get a contact list of Italian body shops by province?

Yes: the price starts at €290 and depends on how many businesses come out of the area you name.
