What we measured on 14 September 2026: AAAA records of 102 scraping, SEO and social targets from three resolvers (1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 in Italy, systemd-resolved on a Frankfurt host). 49 of 102 publish an AAAA record, 45 of 102 are reachable over IPv6 on the host the homepage lands on, 57 are IPv4-only; Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo and Yandex accept IPv6, DuckDuckGo, Baidu and Naver do not. ## IPv6 proxies for web scraping: which sites support them

An IPv6 proxy can only reach a site that publishes an IPv6 address (a DNS `AAAA` record) for the host you actually fetch. That is the whole compatibility question, and it is checkable in a second per domain, so we checked it for 102 domains that people scrape, monitor or run SEO tools against: search engines, social networks, marketplaces, travel, jobs, real estate, news, finance, developer and AI platforms, and the European classifieds. For each domain we looked up `AAAA` on the apex and on `www` against two public resolvers from Italy and against a third resolver on a Frankfurt server, then fetched the homepage over IPv4 to see where it redirects, and looked up `AAAA` on that final host too. The three resolvers agreed on all 102 domains, and all 102 hosts answered over IPv4, so a missing record is a choice the site made, not an outage.

The result: **49 of 102 domains publish an AAAA record on the apex or on www**, but four of them (reddit.com, bbc.com, openai.com, zalando.com) redirect the homepage to a host that has none, so the number that matters for a scraper is **45 of 102 reachable over IPv6, 57 IPv4-only**. The pattern by sector is sharper than the total: search and the big platforms are largely dual-stack; US retail, classifieds, real estate, jobs, payments and most social apps are not.

Two details in the table are worth a second look before you build a target list. First, **apex and www differ**: amazon.com, wsj.com, adidas.com, similarweb.com, nba.com, uefa.com and otto.de have IPv6 on `www` only, while reddit.com and bbc.com have it on the apex only - and since both redirect to `www`, Reddit and the BBC are IPv4-only in practice. Second, **country redirects change the answer**: zalando.com has 16 AAAA records, but from Italy it sends you to www.zalando.it, which has none; kayak.com sends you to www.kayak.it, which does. Test the exact hostname you will request, from the country you will request it from. ## IPv6 proxies that work with Google and YouTube

Yes: **Google and YouTube accept IPv6**, and so do Bing, Yahoo and Yandex. On 14 September 2026, google.com answered with 5 AAAA records on the apex and 16 on www.google.com; youtube.com with 8 on the apex and 16 on www.youtube.com; bing.com with 4 and 5; yahoo.com with 12 and 4; yandex.ru with 2 and 2, and the sso.passport.yandex.ru host its homepage lands on also has one. Google has published its own IPv6 adoption statistics for years, and the share of users reaching Google over IPv6 is large enough that IPv6 traffic is ordinary on its properties, which is the property scrapers care about: an IPv6 exit is not unusual on Google or YouTube the way it would be on a site that only just turned it on.

Three search engines are IPv4-only: **DuckDuckGo, Baidu and Naver** published no AAAA record on apex or www. If your rank tracker or SERP job covers those, route them through [datacenter](https://quanticdata.io/datacenter-proxies/) or [residential](https://quanticdata.io/residential-proxies/) IPv4 exits on the same account, and keep IPv6 for Google, YouTube, Bing and Yahoo. Two honest caveats: an AAAA record means the front door speaks IPv6, not that Google will serve a bot an unlimited number of result pages from one /64 - rate limits and consent walls still apply, and Google's are the strictest on the list - and we did not measure success rates in this article, only reachability. **IPv6 proxies are worth it when your targets are dual-stack and your volume is measured in hundreds of gigabytes or more; they are not worth it when your targets are IPv4-only, and the table above tells you which is which.** The economics are not subtle. IPv4 addresses are exhausted and every IPv4 proxy price carries the scarcity: on our own price list residential bandwidth is $1.00/GB from the $5 pack and $0.80/GB at 1,000 GB, datacenter $0.50/GB, mobile $2.30/GB at 500 GB. IPv6 addresses are abundant - a single /48 holds 65,536 /64 subnets, each with 264 addresses - so IPv6 bandwidth is $0.20/GB at entry and $0.083/GB at 3 TB. For 1 TB a month, that is $110 on IPv6 against roughly $500 on datacenter and $800 to $1,000 on residential.

When IPv6 wins: crawling and monitoring dual-stack platforms at volume (Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, Wikipedia, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Amazon's www host, Netflix, Apple, Microsoft, Cloudflare-fronted sites that enabled it), media-heavy collection where gigabytes are the cost driver, and per-IP rate limits that a fresh /64 sidesteps. ## Residential IPv6 proxies: what exists and what you actually need

**QuanticData's IPv6 proxies are datacenter-issued addresses on /48 and /64 subnets, not residential.** We say so on the product page and we say so here, because "residential IPv6" is a phrase people search for and the honest answer is more useful than the marketing one. Residential IPv6 exists as a technology: many home ISPs now hand a /64 or a /56 to each customer, which is exactly why Google sees so much IPv6 traffic. Residential IPv6 as a *proxy product* is a different matter. To be residential, an exit has to sit on a prefix registered to a consumer ISP, and a buyer has almost no way to verify that from the outside; what is usually sold under the label is hosting-issued space, and per-IP reputation databases have very little history on IPv6 at all, so the residential-versus-datacenter distinction that drives IPv4 pricing barely exists yet on the IPv6 side.

What you actually need depends on the gate you are hitting. If the target is dual-stack and blocks on *behaviour* - request rate per address, missing cookies, headless fingerprints - our IPv6 network solves the address side cheaply: a fresh /64 per request, unlimited concurrency, $0.083 to $0.20 per GB, and the fingerprint side is your client's job. ## Unlimited IPv6 proxies for SEO tools

To put a terabyte in SEO terms: the two Google result pages our SERP API fetched while researching this article weighed 121,487 bytes between them, about 60 KB each as delivered to a non-JavaScript client, so 1 TB is on the order of sixteen million such pages. A rank tracker that checks 10,000 keywords in 5 countries daily fetches 50,000 pages a day, or 1.5 million a month - roughly 90 GB at that page weight, which fits inside the $20 Photon pack with room to spare. "Unlimited" plans elsewhere are unlimited the way a buffet is: a fair-use policy, a speed cap or a concurrency ceiling does the limiting further down the page, and the monthly fee is due whether the tracker ran or not.

The constraint that actually matters for SEO tooling is not bandwidth, it is **which engines accept IPv6**, and that is measured above: Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo and Yandex do; DuckDuckGo, Baidu and Naver do not. Among the SEO platforms themselves, ahrefs.com, moz.com and similarweb.com are dual-stack; semrush.com is IPv4-only. So an IPv6-only rank tracker covers Google, Bing and Yahoo (DuckDuckGo's results draw largely on Bing, but DuckDuckGo's own site is IPv4-only) and needs an IPv4 exit for Baidu, Naver and Semrush integrations. One more thing "unlimited" pages rarely mention: budget requests per /64, not per address. A /64 is the unit a single end site receives, and abuse systems tend to key on it, so fresh addresses inside one /64 should be assumed not to reset a counter - which is why our exits are spread across /48s rather than packed into one prefix. ## How we tested, and what this test does not prove

Every number in this article was measured by us on 2026-09-14 between 06:16 and 06:18 UTC, with `dig` and curl 8.7.1 from a Mac in Italy and `dig` on a DigitalOcean host in Frankfurt (quantum-prod-2, the same machine that serves this site). For each of the 102 domains: `AAAA` lookups of the apex and of `www` against 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 (Italy) and against the local systemd-resolved resolver (Frankfurt); one `A` lookup; one IPv4 fetch of `https://domain/` with a Chrome user agent, redirects followed, 15-second cap, recording the HTTP status and the final hostname; and a further `AAAA` lookup of that final hostname when it was neither the apex nor `www`. "Accepts IPv6" in this article means the final hostname has at least one `AAAA` record. Stated plainly, because the limits are the most useful part of any first-party number:

- **This is a DNS test, not a connection test.** Neither of our vantage points had native IPv6 connectivity on the test date, so we did not open a TLS connection over IPv6 to any of the 102 hosts and we do not report an IPv6 HTTP status. An AAAA record is a necessary condition - without it an IPv6 proxy cannot reach the site at all - not a sufficient one: a dual-stack site can still challenge, rate-limit or block a given prefix.

- **No request went through the QuanticData IPv6 network for this article.** The test account had no IPv6 pack active on the day, and we chose to publish the DNS census rather than delay it. A follow-up with real requests through our /48s against the 45 dual-stack domains is the obvious next measurement.

- **Homepage only.** Some sites serve APIs, CDNs or login hosts on different names with different records; the mobile app endpoints of TikTok, X or Reddit were not checked.

- **One day, from Europe.** Geo-redirects (zalando.it, kayak.it, shein it.) reflect an Italian vantage point; a US client may land on a different host with a different answer. DNS also changes: a site can add or drop AAAA overnight.

- **The IPv4 control status is a control, not a verdict.** 21 hosts returned 403 to a plain curl and 4 returned a 202 challenge page; that says the host is alive and fronted by anti-bot, nothing about how a proxy would fare.

- **The ranking rests on our own price list and terms**, which we can verify, plus this census. We measured no other network's performance and make no claim about it.

### Do IPv6 proxies work with Google and YouTube?

QuanticData's test on 14 September 2026 found that Google and YouTube both publish IPv6 addresses: google.com has 5 AAAA records on the apex and 16 on www, youtube.com has 8 and 16, so IPv6 exits reach both. Bing (4 and 5), Yahoo (12 and 4) and Yandex (2 and 2) accept IPv6 as well; DuckDuckGo, Baidu and Naver are IPv4-only. Reachability is not immunity: Google still rate-limits and challenges by prefix, so spread requests across /48s and budget per /64. Our SERP API returns Google results as JSON if you would rather not run the fetch layer.

### Are IPv6 proxies worth it compared to IPv4?

QuanticData's answer is yes when your targets are dual-stack and your volume is in the hundreds of gigabytes, no when they are IPv4-only. IPv6 bandwidth costs $0.083 to $0.20 per GB against $0.50 for datacenter, $0.80 to $1.00 for residential and $2.30 for mobile on the same account, so 1 TB a month is $110 on IPv6 versus about $500 to $1,000 on IPv4. But 57 of the 102 major sites we checked never see an IPv6 packet, so check the table first and route a mixed list through both networks.

### Are there residential IPv6 proxies?

QuanticData's IPv6 proxies are datacenter-issued addresses on /48 and /64 subnets, not residential, and we say so plainly. Residential IPv6 exists as a technology, because many home ISPs assign a /64 or /56 to each customer, but as a proxy product it is rare and almost impossible for a buyer to verify, and IPv6 reputation databases hold little history either way. If a target rejects hosting address blocks, no IPv6 product fixes that; you need a residential IPv4 exit ($1.00/GB from $5, $0.80/GB at volume) or a mobile one. If the target is dual-stack and blocks on behaviour, IPv6 at $0.083 to $0.20 per GB is the cheap answer.

### Are there unlimited IPv6 proxies for SEO tools?
